Adoptee
If your adoption was through CHS, we can help you find the information you may be seeking about your background. We also want to let you know that you are not alone.
Many adoptees contact us to get information about their birth families, obtain medical history or because they are considering searching for their birth parents.
Our staff will talk with you in detail and help you understand the steps involved, what to expect, and find the answers you are seeking.
If you are interested in a search, the first step is to request a Search Packet. To request a Search Packet and for more information, please contact us at 314.968.2350 x230 or search@chsmo.org.
Adoptive Parent
If you adopted through CHS, you may be looking for information from your son or daughter's adoption file.
Many adoptive parents are also interested in helping their son or daughter search for their biological family.
For more information, or to have your questions answered, please contact us at 314.968.2350 x230 or search@chsmo.org.
Birth Parent
We recognize that making an adoption plan for a child is a selfless act of love. We also understand that it can produce a variety of intense feelings. Many birth parents have shared with us that contacting CHS was one of the most difficult calls they ever had to make.
We provide free lifetime counseling services for issues surrounding your adoption decision. If CHS helped with your child's adoption and you are interested in continued counseling services, please contact us at 314.968.2350 x230 or e-mail search@chsmo.org.
Family Member
Adoption affects many people but rarely are the feelings of adoptee's extended birth family members addressed. We recognize that adoption touches siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Extended birth family members are welcome to send gifts of letters, cards, or photographs to be placed in the adoption file. These are invaluable gestures to the adoptee and their family. If you are a biological sibling of someone adopted through CHS, we may be able to assist you in search for that person.
